{"id":395,"date":"2005-11-14T22:04:03","date_gmt":"2005-11-15T03:04:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/baltimoremick.com\/blog\/about\/"},"modified":"2009-12-22T22:10:38","modified_gmt":"2009-12-23T02:10:38","slug":"about","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.baltimoremick.com\/blog\/about\/","title":{"rendered":"About"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Who am I, and why am I here?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After much procrastinating, I have decided to actually fill out and complete a page that is somewhat autobiographical in nature.<\/p>\n<p>I am a <span style=\"text-decoration: line-through;\">31 32 33 34<\/span> 35-year-old male living in Baltimore, Maryland.\u00c2\u00a0 I was born in Baltimore, and I have lived in and around the city for most of my life.\u00c2\u00a0 I attended <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bpi.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">Baltimore Polytechnic Institute<\/a>&#8211;Poly, as it is known in local circles.\u00c2\u00a0 Following that, I received a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\" target=\"_blank\">Boston University<\/a> in Boston, Massachusetts.\u00c2\u00a0 I then completed my Master of Public Management at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.umd.edu\" target=\"_blank\">University of Maryland<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.puaf.umd.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">School of Public Policy<\/a> in College Park, Maryland.<\/p>\n<p>Following graduate school, I wound up pursuing a technical track for my career.\u00c2\u00a0 I started working in technical support for my graduate school, and I continued working various system administrator roles around the College Park campus.\u00c2\u00a0 I recently ended my employment there, finishing the last five years at the <a href=\"http:\/\/oit.umd.edu\" target=\"_blank\">Office of Information Technology<\/a> as a system administrator of Novell NetWare and Microsoft Windows systems.\u00c2\u00a0 Now, I find myself doing things for a large firm here in downtown Baltimore.<\/p>\n<p>The blog that you are reading here is just a series of random thoughts&#8211;rants, opinions, or interesting finds on the Internets.\u00c2\u00a0 Sometimes I post technical content, and that is mainly to occasionally help my fellow denizens of the Internet or other technical types.\u00c2\u00a0 Other times, though, my posts are of a personal or humorous tone.\u00c2\u00a0 I took the name for my blog and its domain&#8211;<em><strong>baltimoremick<\/strong><\/em>&#8211;from my Irish and Baltimore roots.<\/p>\n<p>If you feel the need to contact me, any of the methods below work.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Email:<\/strong> jasonjthomas AT gmail DOT com<br \/>\n<strong>AIM:<\/strong> jjtaim<br \/>\n<strong>MSN:<\/strong> jasonjthomas AT hotmail DOT com<br \/>\n<strong>Yahoo!:<\/strong> jasonjthomasumd<br \/>\n<strong>ICQ:<\/strong> 83676303<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Who am I, and why am I here?
