Looks like this works like a charm.

I think I can deal with 21 Mb/s down and 3.5 Mb/s up.

I also discovered someone linking to an image on my blog.  Now, my concern is certainly not over the bandwidth consumption.  The fine host I have–A2 Hosting–is quite generous with my bandwidth caps, and my blog is by no means famous.  Still, it was the principle of it all.  I made some edits to my .htaccess file, and the page linked above now has one of the more legendary images to make the rounds on the Internet.

Posting that was cathartic.  I already feel better.

With the failed attempt of the “underwear” or “crotch bomber” on Christmas Day, Schneier has written some astute observations on his blog and in a recent opinion piece on CNN.  Go read it, then add his blog to your feedreader and read it regularly.

The conclusion of Schneier’s opinion piece on CNN is much of what he has said in the last few years when it comes to airport security:

Focus on the general risk of terrorism, and not the specific threat of airplane bombings using PETN-filled underwear. Focus on the general risk of troubled teens, and not the specific threat of a lone gunman wandering around a school. Ignore the movie-plot threats, and concentrate on the real risks.

Just think of how hassle-free flying could be if we protected against those general risks as opposed to utilizing a reactionary position to the most recent terrorist event–successful or unsuccessful.

My favorite part: Advice such as “You may have to climb inside a tauntaun for warmth.”

I must offer my sincerest apologies in advance during this holiday season.  On account of Snowpocalypse 2009, my Christmas cards are being mailed out later than usual.  I had planned on sending them out on Saturday, but Mother Nature’s fury scuttled my plans to visit the Post Office.

He also has a blue collar with tags with his name, our phone number, rabies vaccination and MICROCHIP ID number. He is a bit shy around new people, but is really a very nice little dog.
