After logging into Facebook and seeing the various suggestions of ways to reconnect with friends, the xkcd comic of 7 December 2009 was so spot on.
Inevitably, the “Suggestions” feature of Facebook is going to become a sentient machine, encouraging us to reconnect with various friends in “various” ways.
Mine is already a few steps beyond that. I’m being encouraged to poke my aunt.
it cant become sentient, its just an unimpressive piece of code which says you should do (random recoonection action like writing on wall) when the activity level between you and a friend drops below a certain threshold.
