Changes are afoot at work. As a result, I am, in essence, getting a promotion. I am now a manager. My current supervisor is moving to another position in the company, so that moves me up in the pecking order.
The news was officially announced last week after I got back from Boston. I had an idea this might happen, but I did not realize it would be so soon. Consequently, this week has been hectic. I am handling two transitions—one from a change in my staff and the other as my supervisor hands his responsibilities off to me. Needless to say, the last two days have been full of meetings.
I need to really buckle down and start delegating. If I start to look like the following picture, someone please beat me.
