Electronic Death

It would appear that the battery for my personal cell phone–a RAZR2–is dead or defective.  It refuses to hold a charge, and after letting it recharge all night long it still complains of a low battery.

I will have to play with it later this evening, but it looks like I may need to look at a replacement battery.  More on this effort later.

For batteries, try Amazon. I was impressed with selection and price. Of course you might need one faster than that.

@Alex: I completely forgot about Amazon–accessories and other good stuff. Sometimes, the simplest solution is the one I overlook.

Perhaps it is your phone that is defective. I have a Razr and have the same exact problem. Sure I’ve dropped it 100 times and the thing is 2 years old, but still, you’d think it would freaking work.

@Catherinette: Perhaps. I think I am running into a minor manufacturing defect that is wreaking havoc with my phone. The RAZR2 has a small rubber grommet that “seals” the port the charger plugs into. That grommet is attached–apparently via glue–to a small metal piece that has since fallen off my phone. It appears to be working now, but it has been, shall we say, wonky, in the last couple of days. Nonetheless, you would think some of these phones would be much more resilient. Heck, the work-supplied BlackBerry takes a ticking and keeps on ticking.
