I have always been a George Carlin fan, so hearing the news of his death was a bit of a disappointing way to begin the work-week. I watched his HBO specials regularly read a couple of his books. As a tribute, purloined from YouTube, I leave a couple of classic George Carlin bits for you to enjoy:

Having gotten into work a bit late -- and missing all the morning CNN commentary by my coworkers -- today I didn't catch the news until lunchtime. He's one of the few comedians that I wish I could have seen live before he passed. I knew he was getting older and had a very bumpy road, but damn.
