I recently bought the MP3 version of The Tony Bennett/Bill Evans Album, and I really enjoy “Some Other Time.” It’s not a terribly melancholy song, but I find it speaks to the current pace of things. Add Tony Bennett’s singing to the piano master of Bill Evans, and this album is quite good.
Here are the lyrics to “Some Other Time”:
Where has the time all gone to?
Haven’t done half the things we want to
Oh, well
We’ll catch up some other time
This day was just a token
Too many words are still unspoken
Oh, well
We’ll catch up some other time
Just when the fun is starting
Comes the time for parting
But let’s be glad for what we had
And what’s to come
There’s so much more embracing
Still to be done but time is racing
Oh, well
We’ll catch up some other time.

Hi There,
If you liked this tune, you should listen to the show from which it comes, On The Town, by
Leonard Bernstein. It is a bittersweet song and has more lyrics in the original show.
