Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

I played hooky yesterday afternoon from work to go see Indy 4 at the Senator, as I alluded to in an earlier post.  What did I think of the movie?  Unlike this dork, I actually enjoyed myself.  ;-)

The movie had the action sequences I expected, and the good part is that they did not try to trump themselves with the past trilogy.  Although much older, seeing this movie is a great reminder of why Indiana Jones is an iconic movie character and how great a fit the character is for Harrison Ford–even after nearly 20 years away from the character.  Some of the best scenes–albeit a bit too short–are with Karen Allen.  It seems as though both of them have neatly picked up 27 years after “Raiders.”

I enjoyed it, and leaving the movie reminded me of when I left “The Last Crusade” 19 years ago.  The Raiders March was stuck firmly in my head, and I enjoyed another good ride.

    i’m enough of an indy nerd that i would watch the movie if it was just him eating applesauce and playing shuffleboard at the retirement house.

    we’re planning on going to the senator on tuesday after i take an exam.

    I really wanted Short Round to walk in at the end and slug Mutt while saying, “You call him Dr. Jones, greaser!”

    I just can’t get the image of Harrison Ford…sloppy drunk halfway off his bar stool at Madam’s Organ in DC. It’s totally ruined the movie for me.

    Okay that made no sense. Sorry.

    I meant to say that I can’t get the image out of my head. Jeez.

    @j$: So very true.

    @Satevis (My New Biggest Fan): I hit the Daughter before. Guinness before the movie is quite tasty.

    @Snay: I actually thought his character worked, but the scenes with Karen Allen were that much funnier.

    @Carol: Always killing my vibe. What is it with you and your buzzkilling nature?
