Where Things Stand

This week has been surprisingly busy at the office and at home, but this week is going to be an exceedingly good one.  Here are some plans in no particular order for the next few days.

  • Big Event: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
    I am going to see this tomorrow at the Senator Thursday afternoon. I am leaving work early tomorrow, then heading up to buy my ticket and hang out in the area.  If anyone is interested, call or email me and I will grab an extra ticket.  I have, of course, watched all three of the original trilogy from the DVD set I have.  Admittedly, hearing the familiar chords of The Raider’s March gets me pretty amped, reminding me of when I walked out of the theater after seeing “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade” at Harbor Park with a classmate from Poly after school.  I do not expect the movie to be a seminal event in my life, but at the same time I think it will be pretty good.
  • Weekend Birthday
    I have a friend who is celebrating his 33rd year on this Earth, and we will be getting together to celebrate.  It should definitely be a good time, and I am hoping to get some grilling in as well.  Being that this weekend is Memorial Day, I think a firing up of the mighty Weber is in order.
  • End of Week Work Stuff
    Hopefully, the end of the week slows down a bit with folks starting the holiday weekend early.  I still need to make an appearance at the office early Saturday morning for a cutover we have, but I expect that to be pretty painless.  I just need to figure out where to grab some bagels and coffee that early in the morning on a Saturday that is not Dunkin Donuts.  Wegmans is a potential, but they do not open until 6 AM, so I am going to need to hit something in the downtown area.  I will be sure to have this figured out by Saturday.
  • Memorial Day
    I have no idea what I want to do, but I will be enjoying this day off.

    I just read the last 10 or 15 posts of your blog from my Blackberry. Worse yet, I enjoyed the reading. I’m afraid to consider what that says about me.

    Yeah and thanks for the 4pm Guiness toast as you’re heading off the to movies.
    I was driving near Dallas, TX.
    And now I’m sitting in DFW with a 3+ hour delay to get back to LA.
    I’ll be getting home about the time your happy ass is rolling to the gym (your time).
    Twitter me this.

    @George: I had meant to have a completely separate post about your visit, so keep an eye out.

    @Satevis: At your service.

    @Chris: Apologies for the Guinness toast, but I thought you might enjoy it. We take too much pleasure in sending these text messages, mocking each other or entertaining each other with what we are doing. Hopefully, you have a long, relaxing holiday weekend ahead of you.
