Wireless with Ubuntu

My wireless card arrived today, and I was able to install it pretty easily into my Ubuntu laptop.  I now have an old Dell Latitude C800 running Ubuntu as a semi-permanent fixture in my living room.  dell-c800-l.jpg

It is nice to not have to be tethered to the desktop in the office to check email, surf the web, or remote into my desktop to perform some other task.  The laptop may be old, but it works perfectly for what I need it to do.

I know this is not related to wireless, but you did resolve the video card issue with Ubuntu. I’m new with Linux and I am still debating the switch. I ran the live cd and had an issue with the video card. We have the same laptop, so I just wanted some advice. Thanks

I actually had little problem with video on this laptop. I would need to recall my steps, but I did have to do a little interesting settings modification to get it to work as expected. I presume you are seeing the weird problem where you can’t quite see everything that you should see on the screen?

I can take a look at my laptop at some point soon. I have lent it to someone to use as a replacement for their laptop, so I do not have it immediately available to me to review.
