Work has been quite busy over the last few days, as the project I am working on has finally gone “live.” Consequently, I spent a good part of my weekend nights actually working, both on-site and from home. I worked from 10 PM on Friday night to 4:30 AM on Saturday morning. I then worked Saturday evening until around midnight from home, and I had a similar schedule on Sunday as well. I also worked early in the morning on Sunday. For the last two days I worked remotely, so for all essential purposes I was tethered to a PC at home, remoted into my office doing things remotely.
Early on Monday morning, I was up for an hour to respond to a report of an outage. I did not get back to sleep until 4:00 AM, then I had to get up and go to the office. I promptly got home last night and fell asleep for a nice long time.
As a result, I want to blow off some steam and just have a good time killing things and blowing crap up on my new computer. I have been pondering getting the following games for the new PC:
- BioShock
- Medal of Honor: Airborne
- The Orange Box (pontificated about here)
I just seriously need to blow things up, and what better way to make sure my machine will run games well then to play one of these three.

Orange Box. Without a doubt the most bang for the buck. Half-Life 2, HL2 ep1 and ep2, Portal and Team Fortress. Bioshock is also great, but I still prefer the HL2 games.

That’s one of the reasons I am really digging Orange Box. You get a nice number of games for the price.

Enjoy blowing off steam. You deserve it. I prefer to break real things rather than blow stuff up online – good luck with that. I spent an hour breaking down cardboard boxes in my basement on Saturday. It was very satisfying. Breaking tiles with a hammer to do mosaics is also fun.

I was about to break some dishes at the cafe today, but then my neighbor reminded me I’d have to clean up the mess. So…no breaking dishes.
