Admitting to my Metrosexuality

Unlike ACW, I will admit to my metrosexuality.  ;-)  Friday was shining proof of how incredibly bad it has become.

  • This week, I stopped procrastinating and ordered my usual shaving items from the Grooming Lounge.  I received my shipment Thursday afternoon, and I made use of it Friday morning for my shave.  I realized how much of a difference there is between just using Edge Shave Gel and their Beard Destroyer Shave Cream.  Add to that the use of their Beard Master Shave Oil, and this is the best shave I have had in months.  I really noticed a difference between the way my razor felt when using Edge Gel and using the Grooming Lounge stuff.  While I will admit that this stuff costs a bit more than the usual stuff, I have to admit that I really forgot how great a shave I get from these products.  I know it sounds like I am shilling for them, but their products are really good.  As a man, I am on a never-ending quest to get a great shave, so anything that makes this routine comfortable makes me extremely happy.
  • I own a tuxedo, as I purchased one way back when I dated Linda.  The last three times I have worn it out, though, I have tried to tie my own bow tie.  Each time, I have failed in that quest, and the last two times I have had to stop by Jos A. Bank downtown, including Friday night.  I attended the Harbor Ball last night, and in my preparations I spent another 30 minutes in front of the mirror with the very nice instructions on tying a bow tie.  I could not get the second loop of the bow done.  I was so close, but I had to give up on account of time.  If anyone knows how to tie a bow tie and can give me a tip, please do.
  • It’s high time I replace a pair of black shoes, and I am tempted to give Zappos.com a whirl.  My normal everyday shoes have begun to show signs that they are not meant much longer for this world.  I still worry about buying shoes from them on account of my Fred Flintsone-like feet–I have some wide feet.  I normally go to Nordstrom, but I keep getting the feeling I could do better with Zappos.

Well that makes two ways you aren’t similar to ACW. You work hard at looking good and you don’t spend all your time complaining about every minor thing. I think when a man gets married these days every molehill turns into a very large mountain range.

I have used zappos.com on several occasions and really like them. Of course I’m a big fan of avoiding malls and stores (although I like Norstrom’s when I can find items that are the right price point for me) and ordering on line so I ave the occasional present waiting at home when I return from work.

Cham: He just likes to complain, and it’s even funnier since he rocks the ‘burbs.

Paul: I am with you on avoiding stores, so I cannot argue with that point. Why fight the crowds when I can order from the comfort of my own home.

I work hard at looking good, just not for you yahoos. Why would I go out of my way for a bunch of bloggers? Also, yes, I complain about everything. Everything is stupid.

I HEART ZAPPOS. You can’t go wrong with them — free return shipping!

You’re not 100% metrosexual, though. You like beer, baseball, and football too much. Oh, but you like coffee a lot, too. I don’t know. You’re an enigma. I also recommend Zappos.

If you’re confident of your shoe size, you can do no better than Zappos! I bought my Keene’s from them, and they were the only shoe I wore in China, aside from a dressy pair of black Bjorns to wear to dinner and some travel. Excellent choice - excellent shoes.

Alright, I need to give Zappos a whirl. I am not terribly confident in my shoe size, though, so I need to get sized up somewhere. I know I have a wide foot, but I cannot remember how wide.
