- Thank God for the beginning of Ravens Training Camp. I can now take my mind off of the sports atrocity that is the Baltimore Orioles. I have grown weary of the talk of how the Orioles have played better in the second half of the season, but that really does not help matters much when the first part of their season was so miserable. Here’s to watching a team that has made all the right moves in player acquisition and development.
- Speaking of the Orioles, with my college friend coming into town, I will be at a couple of the Red Sox games this weekend. Joy of joys, being surrounded by Red Sox fans–true fans and the band-wagoners. I realize that by doing so I am breaking my vow to not take in any Oriole games, and I did pretty good considering that I have not been to a game since Opening Day.
- Speaking of football, did anyone see the announcement of the Steeler’s new mascot, Steely McBeam? I saw a photo of this last night during SportsCenter, and I just about shot beer out of my nose. Granted, the three Ravens that Baltimore has are kind of lame, but this is even worse. Where’s a Steelers fan I can make fun of for this choice?

- Here’s hoping Alex Rodriguez–even though he is a prima donna–breaks the home run record in 5 years. Big-Head Barry–from both the supplements and ego–is just too much to take.

Wtf? Why does the ESPN story you link not include a picture of Mr. McBeam?
As for the O’s v Red Soxes this weekend not only will I be there but I’ll be in the company of of Red Sox fans.

Make your fun. We deserve it. What a lame, lame, fucking lame mascot. Why not just Steely or Man of Steel, or Steel McBangsmadchicksalot or Blitzburgh. We should change our colors to pink and mauve.

Steely McBeam–I think I saw a movie with him in it. A movie I should not, in public, admit to seeing.
