I almost forgot, but as this is the last Friday in July, it’s SysAdmin Day. To my fellow sysadmins, enjoy the day. To all of those users out there, wish your local sysadmin “Happy SysAdmin Day!”

And me without my cowbell shirt today! You should have told me yesterday!
Before I went out and got fuzzy at The Parlor last night. Now I need lots more coffee!

From that website, I now know and appreciate what a SysAdmin does.
Hope you had a happy day!

I still consider myself an SA even though I’ve branched out a bit. When I announced that today was SAAD, my office mates said “oh, should we get you something?” No one did, although one coworker said that she meant to make brownies. I’d be irked but she’s 8 months pregnant and has more important things to be worried about. But it was a slow day at the office; maybe everyone took the day off to make it that way.

Paul: I remember seeing that. For shame!
danielle: Now shower me and other fellow SAs with gifts, dammit!
Alex: I think we all branch out, but we still wind up working our “root” expertise. Bad pun aside, you may stray, but you always return to what made us what we are. We just do not do it as much.
