In my carousing about Baltimore with my friends last night after the Orioles game, I had to rely on my backup method of catching up on 24. I like to call this my poor man’s TiVo. I went ahead and grabbed last night’s episode via BitTorrent, as ted was not discovering the episode I needed.
Last night’s episode was probably one of the better ones of the season. Both President Wayne Palmer and Jack used some subterfuge to achieve their ends–Palmer using the threat of nuclear attack to get the cooperation of the Middle Eastern country and Jack duping Fayed into leading him to the two remaining nuclear suitcases. Jack got to add some good numbers to the Bauercount. I have been waiting all season for this to happen. At the end of the episode, we get our second plotline. The Chinese have returned, and they have a very-much alive Audrey Raines. Apparently, Chang has something up his sleeve for Jack, and he plans to use Audrey as the bait.
The other good thing about this episode is we did not have an episode that just dealt with the quasi-domestic squabbling going on inside CTU. I understand the need for the storyline as part of the character development, but it has been a bit excessive this season. It looks like the last seven episodes should be a good ride.
P.S. It’s episodes such as this one that make me even happier that I bought the pictured t-shirt. Bauer Power!
