Being a product of the 70s is one thing. Willingly embracing the fashion sense of that decade is entirely another thing.

Jason, then who could be better to promote the 70's beads extravaganza, as you ARE a product of the 70's?

NPR Junky: Beads are so 1970s. Besides, that would not work given that I am not Shaft.

JB: Interesting idea, but the problem is that the break-in occurred during the day. It might not be a bad idea to look into, though. I am also pondering the privacy fence, though, in another year.

Do you have outdoor floodlights? You need to illuminate dark areas on the outside of your house. The thing to get are incandescent floodlights that come on automatically when it gets dark. This kind of photo-sensitive switch is cheap but effective.

I'd be interested to find out about what details you get about hinged/locking access grates you hear about. I have a window I would also like to secure, but I've always been too lazy to look up a given product...

Jason, so sorry to see of your break in. I haven't been blogging too much in the last few weeks, so I just read about it. I feel for you! It has happened to me and there is definetly a feeling of violation you go through.

I own one of those Columbian Yellow and Black Coats and I sure wouldn't want it stolen. Your grandfather's pipe is even more special to lose, I hope it turns up on the market place and gets returned to you. I will keep my eyes open for it in the antiques shops I go to. You never know what can be found. Take care my friend!
