Working for the Weekend

Friday afternoon, and I have been a bit busy on other things this week while in the office.  Here’s a whole bunch of stuff that is on tap for this weekend.

  • Friday: I realized this morning I own nothing that is work-appropriate with purple in it–save for a dress shirt.  Since I am a big fan of dress casual, though, that shirt remained on its hangar and I sported a more casual shirt.  Nonetheless, I will be donning some purple later this evening as I co-host a little podcast Ravens soiree.  I am not one for sports bars, as I enjoy my sports and adult beverages quietly for the most part.  Still, I am a bit excited about this–being around like-minded fans is fun.  Even better, beer is involved.  By the way, I know the Playbook is not in Canton, so shut up already.
  • Saturday: Colts vs. Ravens in the AFC Divisional Playoff Game at 4:30 PM.  Although it may change, I do not anticipate going to the game myself.  Thus, I am trying to determine the best place to enjoy the action.  I know there will be some of my people out and about drinking, and I plan to do much the same thing.  I just have to get my day started early to get some things done before it gets crazy with the football fans in my ‘hood.  In all seriousness, anyone out there want to join me?  Let me know, and we can figure out a place to enjoy the game(s) with beer, food, and other assorted fun.
  • Sunday: Certainly, there will be football to watch, and I will be doing so while basking in the glow of Ravens victory.  The bigger event for me, though, occurs at 8 PM.  At that time, the first two hours of the four-hour season premiere of the best show on television, 24, takes place.  The return of the “Jack Bauer Power Hour” is just more than 48 hours away, and I cannot wait.  As though anyone will bother me, I will effectively be dead to the world for those two hours.  My phone will be off, and I will not be responding to any IMs.
