I am now a homeowner. I will now to get enjoy all the benefits–and occasional pratfalls–the come with homeownership. I am really excited about this.
I have lots of folks to thank about getting to this point, but there is really one person who I am very thankful to: my grandfather. So many times in my life, he (along with my late grandmother) has always been there. Such was the case here. When I needed someone to bounce locations off of, discuss options, and get financial assistance from, he has been there. I continue to be in his debt, and there is no repayment imaginable that will ever square this debt. I know he will never read this, but all I can say is “Thanks, Pops.”

Personally I almost enjoy the pitfalls. Why? Because now as a homeowner I am empowered to fix them and not have to wait for a landlord to get around to it.
