Who in their right mind schedules resigns and schedules their last day for a Monday?!?! I had to deal with getting a laptop from a user who was leaving the firm so I could remove any data they had on it, as the user will still be able to use the laptop until mid-August. The user in question, unfortunately, was still working on one last project, and I had no intention of remaining at the office waiting for her to finish her last piece of work. Thus, the mad scramble to make sure all was in order while at the same time respecting the wishes of my superiors to get everything ironed out resulted in the user finishing her work before she left, leaving the laptop in a secure place for me, and the removal of the user’s rights remotely last night.
As “The Bobs” said in Office Space, an employee really should only be allowed to leave the firm or be fired Fridays.
