When you have a mishap with a cup of sugary liquid, make sure that you are not too close to your computer keyboard. Furthermore, ensure that you do not decide to wash slightly sticky keyboard in the dishwasher as suggested here and here. Of course, following both of these posts implies that I take the time to disassemble the whole keyboard. It also means that I should let the keyboard completely dry.
I did neither of these things. I have way too many things to do than to bother with either action, so just put the keyboard in the dishwasher–not using any soap–and make sure to run the drying cycle a few times. Also, allow some loosening of the keyboards screws to allow for water to drain out of it.
Thankfully, the Best Buy opened downtown. As a result, I am the proud owner of the Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop 1000.

Hey there, I’m the tack hammer guy. Did someone here raise their hand?

Hink: What better way to get me to spend $57 on a wireless keyboard and mouse than to spill a sugary liquid on one’s keyboard?
