Wedding Weekend

The last wedding of the year I had to attend was on Saturday. Fortunately, this wedding was in Baltimore, so very little actual travel was needed. I cleaned myself up nicely, wearing my new three-button black suit from Jos. Bank, with the corresponding tie and suspenders. I even wore the fancy wingtips for this wedding as opposed to my standard captoe Oxfords. When I have to go formal, I want to make sure I look good. My choice of tie was complimented by a few guests.

The reception was held at the World Trade Center, and it was pretty fun to go to a place I have not been to since elementary school. It was a good view of downtown from the 21st floor. The food was good, and the drinks and wine were much better. The usual assortment of friends were there, but I was able to enjoy the company of another guest. In a rare moment, I even danced on the dance floor. Amazingly, the world did not end.

A good number of us adjourned to the James Joyce for the afterparty, as most of the out-of-town guests and wedding party were staying at the Marriott Waterfront. I enjoyed some Guinness and a rather expensive yet tasty Cohiba cigar. Photos from the festivities will make it on Flickr later.
