I noticed that on Monday and Tuesday, various city workers were posting “No Parking“
signs on one side of Fort Avenue. The signs continued for a nice
stretch until Charles Street, then the signs continued north on Charles
Street. None of my neighbors had any idea why the signs were up,
and I was determined what was preventing people from parking on this
rather long stretch from 5 AM to 3 PM on Saturday, 1 October.
On my way into work this morning, one of those light-bulb-over-the-head
moments occurred and I suddenly realized why these signs were
posted. Saturday is the Komen Maryland Race for the Cure, and the route for the race follows the signs.
Now I know. And knowing is half the battle….
